CELEBRATING OPENING WATERS SUNSET MAGIC

Sometimes you capture a moment in time that will never be again.

For me, that happened early Sat. evening. Spring had suddenly burst forth on this record-setting 70-degree day! (In mid-March - in MN!)

Lake lane neighbors had gathered to help one couple dismantle a giant flag-pole-Christmas-tree festooned with 137 strings of lights . (You saw this colorful, music-synced wonder in my Jan. blog.) Loving, laughter-filled reverse of an Amish barn-raising followed by a few bevies to celebrate our fun, impromptu, collaborative effort.

Who knew what would follow that warm feeling of satisfaction when helping another?

I only happened upon the ensuing splendor when I realized I'd lost an earring and dashed out to look for it. The icy lake had been darkening thanks to the warmth that had been slowly opening the shoreline water. What wonders it revealed that night...

The unexpected reflection in the small swath of opening lake waters dazzled me. My hand flew to my mouth in total awe.

The sky slowly brightened and reflection hues deepened.

As the spectacle unfolded, the sky almost looked woven or braided.

And then the last vestiges of that glorious tapestry disappeared into the dusk. As they said farewell, a lone owl began calling in our nearby woods. Perhaps hooting in gratitude and appreciation for that serendipitous gift of celestial magic.
