 Welcome to About Linda

Roots in Writing

At age 10, I wrote my first books, The Mischievous Little Goat and The Polka-Dot Cow. Both on folded-over yellow newsprint and illustrated with crayons. I was hooked. And I've been creating and writing ever since - for business, education, entertainment, and fun! And hopefully, for or with YOU!

I've helped clients in U.S. and Europe showcase dream projects and products as a: writer, editor, publisher, photog-rapher, publicist, workshop leader, global event event planner, and weaver of unique ways to make positive impact.

My Organic Puppet Theatre: Health Activities book has helped thousands of kids get healthier and more active around the world.

Rich Experience

I bring vivid life experiences,down-to-earth fun, and zest to all I do. Exuberantly linking people with the planet's precious places and vibrant cultures is a long-time passion. Enjoy the journey - through my images and life nuggets on this page.

Along with freelancing, I've worked for a foundation, speaker/consultant, science museum, huge suburban church, camp for special needs kids, mountain lodge, and various businesses (while speaking and traveling).

Always keen to build bridges and find common ground - with people just like you.

Reaching Out

Life-long curiosity about world led me to cross paths with unique folks from many lands. I've traveled extensively, always weaving those colorful adventures into my work. Clearly demonstrating that  we're really more alike than different, as Maya Angelou insisted.

Serendipity catapulted me into colorful, historical moments in time in several countries. They've shaped me, informed my past and current projects, and lead me to seek out projects that will make a joy-filled difference in the world - with and for you.

And I still have those two, now well-worn little books to keep lighting my path.

Berlin Wall Treasure

At the Berlin Wall one week after opening, a colorful slice (above) flew into my hands thanks to a young man furiously chipping off pieces! My home page Wall photo shows one of the 34 holes punched through that Nov. '89 day and includes iconic graffiti: Make Love, Not War. (Full-size image HERE.) That long, heart-breaking Wall saga remains powerful lesson of intention and perseverance when encountering stubborn world issues. Light always shines through darkness.

See Macalester College MAC TODAY feature on my Wall visit.

Kosovo Care in Slovenia

While studying in Oxford and Vienna, two friends and I were rescued and walked into Italy by kindest family from later-war-torn Pristina, Kosovo. Why? Night train suddenly stopped cold in a Slovenian field - on May Day holiday.

Photo of family (above) - with Bob Dylan-loving, English-speaking son, Adem (in plaid shirt). He later invited me to be his guest at Sarajevo Olympics which still makes me smile.

Another reminder of simple human kindness and generosity - a culture and world away.

Russia Up Close

Doing publicity for Mpls. performance of first-ever, Soviet-American musical production -  Peace Child -  led to assisting band and troupe at Washington, DC (Kennedy Center) and NYC finales.

Intimate dinners and stories with open-hearted, local families reminded me we're all part of big human family - despite political differences.

Natural World Wonders

I've long celebrated and shared nature's majesties with reverence and delight. Minnesota's North Shore, Canadian and U.S. Rockies, and Europe's high country gems.

Working at a Glacier National Park area lodge brought me up close and personal with mountain goats, elk, rams, and a grizzly. Some closer than others... (Photo: Goat saying howdy as I woke from Siyeh Pass hike nap.)

Many natural wonders reflections have appeared in book excerpts and newsletters.

On a Personal Note. . .

White Bear Lake, MN is home for now - shared with impish terrier-mix, Ollie (above). My daily view is at page top. A devoted aunt, I spent many evenings and weekends helping raise my dear nephew (avid outdoorsman Ryan) and niece (creative hair colorist Kelly). Lotsa "lily-pad-hat-stories" and whimsical art projects.

I'm ever curious! Stay plugged in with global pals. Create altered board books to honor special friends or nudge me forward. Crazy about fresh raspberries, pine nut hummus, and any kind of chocolate. (Sometimes all three at once...)

Mesmerized by northern lights, fireworks (especially in winter), hot air balloons, starry night campfires, and serendipitous ways our world shows off its wonders. Critter talismans: llama, loon, mountain goat, polar bear.

Thrive on being a sister, cousin, aunt, mentor, friend, colleague, and "nudger" to many around world.

Always seek to give my best.

Through rich tapestry of skills, experience & enthusiasm.
