WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

Are you good at waiting? Right now, I'm waiting for a cool global project to finally launch in Sept., savvy creative partners to help amp up/update my Organic Puppet Theatre, and long-anticipated funds to appear at long last. My waiting hat trick. I used to be patient, even overly patient at times. Believing ole adages like "This too shall pass” and "All good things come to him who waits.”
But uff da. I'm not good at waiting these days. You too? Can you relate? What are you waiting for in your life? For work, love, play, etc. I'm so keen to help make visible, positive change again. Get back in the hurly-burly. Joyfully guide as I also learn. All part of a cool, on-fire-with-creativity community.
IN THE MEANTIME
So, what do I do in the meantime? What do you do as you wait?
Today, I decided to step up and distract myself while I took some small steps. So far, I:
Took lakeside walk with wee pup Ollie and started this blog post in my head
Looked for Facebook people and groups that revel in kids' wellness fun
Chatted with house painters (repairing hailstorm damage) on their lunch break
Shared tweets about Pluto fly-by and Jane Goodall’s 55 years of chimp-lovin'
Visited my colorful, jam-packed altered book created to jump start new paths
RANDOM QUOTES ON WAITING
TThe, I poked around to find quotes on waiting. Maybe a few will call out to you. “II'm hungry for a juicy life. I lean out my window at night and I can taste it out there, just waiting for me.” - Brigid Lowry, Guitar Highway Rose “What we are waiting for is not as important as what happens to us while we are waiting. Trust the process.” - Mandy Hale “I I stand here waiting. To disappear or sing.” - Francesca Lia Block "Women trust God by waiting.” - Carolyn McCulley “Everyone can perform magic, everyone can reach his goals, if he is able to think, if he is able to wait, if he is able to fast.” - Hermann Hesse, Siddhartha “The world is always open, Waiting to be discovered.” - Dejan Stojanovic, Circling: 1978-1987 “We are always waiting, aren't we? All in a state of hesitation and held breath. Sometimes it's glorious like a storm at the end of a hot day.” - Na, I'll Be Seeing You “Are you ready?" Klaus asked finally. "No," Sunny answered. "Me neither," Violet said, "but if we wait until we're ready we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives. Let's go.” - Lemony Snicket, The Ersatz Elevator
ALONG THE WAITING PATH
So, I stay hopeful and in action. Full of expectation and possibility for best timing to reveal answers and new life paths to set out upon with gusto.
Hopefully. at least one of my hat trick waits will reveal possibilities glorious like "a storm at the end of a hot day" (as we experienced Sun. with a wild lightning storm.) Diana Ross once sang, "You can't hurry love." Sometimes we can't hurry projects, writer partners, or dollars. Sometimes we just must trust and have faith as we wait.
LET'S GO...
And sometimes we need to step up and take action. Prime the pump. Move on. Like quickly publishing this post (with photo from college days in Europe). Before I wait - to tweak and edit it about 9 or 10 times before sharing.
Violet’s calling, "Let's go."
[Sometimes it feels like waiting is endless. This photo personifies that. May be set in stone before some dreams or goals come to life. Photo taken in Europe during Eurospring studies. Photo by Linda Sorenson ]
